The invention relates to the preparation of the title compounds and their use as adhesion promoters (coupling agents) in a process for the preparation of a heat-vulcanizable composition which comprises a rubber component, active, reinforcing filler, an effective amount of a vulcanizing agent and conventional additives. At least part of the filler is from the group consisting of highly disperse silicic acids and silicates and is treated (coated) (in situ) with the adhesion promoter in the presence of the rubber component. The adhesion promoters enable the preparation of vulcanisates which have a good filler/rubber bond (siloxane bonds, sulphur bridges).
