Channel comprises at least one axial groove in the periphery such that the section of the channel is circular when the grooves are filled. The channel is pref. transparent polymethylmethacrylate, polyisobutylmethacrylate, poly-n-butylmethacrylate, polystyrene, polycarbonate and/or silicone rubber. The channel is e.g. for a fibrescope and comprises a flexible cable with a groove to hold an optical fiber and a second to hold a balloon inflation tube, with both grooves parallel to the axis. The surface of the channel is pref. covered with a thin cladding film with refractive index smaller than that of the transparent polymer.
