PURPOSE:To prevent the dew condensation of an optical system even in a humid atmosphere by providing a counting means which counts the number of reads of image information on an original and inhibiting a fan for air cooling from operating until the counting means counts up to a specific value. CONSTITUTION:The fan 14 for air cooling is arranged on the upper flank of a copying machine body 32 in which a photosensitive drum 31 is arranged. The fan 14 cools a platen 34, a light source 35, mirrors 36-38, a lens 39, etc., with air. This device inhibits the fan 14 from operating until the total number of copies from power-on operation reaches 99 as a reference value, and puts the fan 14 in operation after the counted value exceeds 99. The fan 14 operates only while an optical system is scanned from a next copy cycle after the fan 14 operates once. Thus, the operation of the fan is limited while the temperature wise in the device is considered, so the inflow of air into the device by the fan is reduced to improve heat efficiency, preventing dew condensation. |
