A locking device especially for articulated up-and-over doors for garages, in which a blocking bolt (11) engages into a locking plate (12), is proposed. In order to provide an especially simple design of a locking device for manual and automatic actuation, the blocking bolt (11) has a blocking edge (26) which engages into an upwardly blocking slot (27) of a locking plate (12).
