The paste according to the invention is composed of fluoride, nitrate and magnesium ions and removes the scale and oxide layers produced by heat treatment (welding and annealing) from the metal surface. As a result, the metal surface is given a clean metal surface appearance and is free of corrosion-promoting oxidic substances.
