PURPOSE:To provide a thermal recording material developing a sharp red color, having excellent heat sensitivity and excellent in the stability of a color forming part and a color non-forming part under a high temp. and high humidity environment, by using a specific compound as a leuco dye and using a diisobutylene/ maleic anhydride copolymer as a binder. CONSTITUTION:A compound expressed by general formula (I) (wherein R1 is a hydrogen atom or a methyl group and R2 is a chlorine atom or a methyl group) is used as a leuco dye and a diisobutylene/maleic anhydride copolymer is used as a binder. If the use amount of the dissobutylene/maleic anhydride copolymer being the binder is 0.3g or less to 1g of the dye, effect is low and, if 0.3g or more, sensitivity is apt to lower and therefore, 0.3-4g is proper and, especially, 0.1-1.5g is pred. to 1g of the dye. If necessary, auxiliary additives generally used in this kind of the thermal recording material, for example, a filler, a surfactant and a heat-meltable substance (or lubricant) etc. can be further used together with the leuco dye and a coupler. |
