PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for base film, reduce cost and prevent generation of used films, by a method wherein an ink is confined inside a capsule wall, and in accordance with a recording signal, microcapsules are heated to break the capsule walls, thereby transferring the ink contained in the microcapsules onto a recording paper. CONSTITUTION:The ink 72 is confined inside the capsule wall 71 formed of a heat-fusible or sublimable substance. When an electric current is passed selectively to predetermined ones of heating elements 10 in accordance with an image signal to generate heat, the heat is transmitted to the microcapsules 7 present in the vicinity of the heating elements 10 supplied with the electric current. As a result, the capsule walls 71 of the microcapsules 7 thus heated are melted or sublimed, whereby the microcapsules are broken, and the ink 72 confined therein reaches the recording paper 2 by passing through a passage hole 12, thereby producing a predetermined ink image. |
