The invention relates to an oven insert (1) with a water container (5) in the combustion chamber (18). According to the invention, there is provided in the combustion chamber (18) a movable, heat-shielding covering (12), with which the water container (5) can be at least partially covered in relation to the combustion chamber (18) so that, in one end position of the covering (12), the thermal energy generated in the combustion chamber (18) is used on the water container (5) for heating the water situated therein and in the other end position of the covering (12), when the water container (5) is covered, the thermal energy is essentially conveyed past the water container (5). In preferred embodiments, the water container (5) is plate-shaped and possibly provided with coverable slots. In a further embodiment, the plate movement is controlled automatically via a temperature sensor in the water container (5) so that an excess-temperature safety device is achieved for the water container (5). <IMAGE> |
