PURPOSE:To obtain an oxygen sea water cell having the cost/electric quantity ratio corresponding with that of copper sulfate cell and the current density of several dozen times that of copper sulfate by supplying hydrogen peroxide as positive electrode active substance through hydrogen peroxide derivative. CONSTITUTION:Positive electrodes 1, 11 are made by forming asbestos board 4 of 0.1mm thick into a bag of 150X150X10mm then mounting two porous carbon positive electrode 1 of 145X145X1mm onto the inside circumferential section and filling positive electrode active substance 3. The negative electrodes 2, 10 are made of magnesium alloy AZ31 of 150X150X1mm held on the opposite faces of positive electrode 1 through a rib 9 separated by 2mm while furthermore, the circumference is secured by the outer resin frame 5 having two sea water flow-in ports 12, 13 of 10mmphi. The relation between the current density and the voltage of a cell employing 40g of ammonium persulfate as positive electrode active substance while magnesium alloy AZ31 as negative electrode active substance when immersed into 3% brine is stable upto 20mA/cm<2>. |
