The invention relates to an appliance for suppressing one's own snoring during sleep. The appliance functions as follows: a small microphone attached somewhere on the head of the person (using sticking tape) receives the snoring noises of the snoring person and passes them to an electronic pocket device with battery, placed in the pyjama pocket. This device receives the noises coming from the microphone and processes them only when they reach a certain volume. The correspondingly louder snoring noises, which as electrical signals have exceeded the sensitivity threshold of the device, are electrically amplified, distorted and sent through an amplitude limiter to an earpiece fitted in the ear. The sensitivity, volume and amplitude limiter of the device can be preset according to the requirements of the user. The connection between the microphone, the device and the earpiece is made by means of a flexible, thin, insulated lead. The drawing represents the appliance on the sleeping person, where: 1 is the microphone, 2 is the electronic device, 8 is the earpiece, 10 are the connecting leads. <IMAGE>
