In the method and device for joining two textile fabric webs (1) or textile fabric web ends, the warp threads of both webs (1) or web ends are exposed at the join in an end zone (at 13) by removal of the weft threads and joined by a method suitable for joining ropes (at 4). Knotting of individual warp threads or of in each case a plurality of warp threads, which are combined in the manner of a rope, has here proved to be particularly advantageous (Figure 4). <IMAGE>
