The lever activated electrical switch has a pair of fixed contacts (11) and a movable contact in the form of a bridge (13) that is moved vertically to effect opening and closing. The lever actuator (21) has a cylindrical lower section (19) and pivots about a point. The bottom section is cut away to receive a coil spring (31) and has formed edges that contact a load pin (24). When the lever is moved against the spring force the load pin is displaced until contact closure occurs at the end of the motion when moved in the opposite direction the spring action effects sudden opening of the contacts. ADVANTAGE - Provides definite switch operating positions.
