PURPOSE:To simplify the setting for leap year, by setting four kinds of patterns to provide signals as leap year to select the patterns properly at the setting of the date. CONSTITUTION:Time data from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31 in leap year on one hand and non-leap year on the other are set to be inputted into a RAM 17. Four patterns - pattern 1 (multiple of 4), pattern 2 (multiple of 4+1), pattern 3 (multiple of 4+2) and pattern 4 (multiple of 4+3) - are set to be inputted into the RAM 17. In the procedure of setting the data, first, at the setting time, year, month, day, hour, minute and second of the current time are set on a time piece IC 19 and then, the pattern corresponding to this setting is selected from among the four kinds of patterns. For example, when the setting is for the 60th year of Showa era, which is three years before the leap year, the pattern 4 is selected with a dip switch 20 and non-leap year is set on timepiece 19. For the year of 1988, which falls on the leap year, the pattern 1 is selected and the leap year is set. Thus, all is done by checking the pattern only at the checking of time with each change of year thereby facilitating the display of leap year. |
