PURPOSE:To obtain a photomagnetic recording medium having excellent moisture resistance and durability by providing a thin amorphous vertical magnetic film layer of a rare earth-transition metal on a substrate, providing a plasma- polymerized film thereon and further providing a protective layer formed by curing the coated film of a radiation curing compd. by radiation onto said film. CONSTITUTION:This photomagnetic recording medium 1 has the thin amorphous vertical magnetic film layer 31 of the rare earth-transition metal, is formed with the plasma-polymerized film 41 on the thin magnetic film layer 3 and further has the protective layer 51 thereon. Provision of the thin magnetic film layer 31 via an intermediate layer 21 is also possible. The plasma- polymerized film 41 is preferably a thin film contg. C and may be formed of C alone or may be formed by incorporating >=1 kinds among H, N and O therein as the other elements. The protective layer 51 formed by curing the radiation curing compd. by radiation such as electron rays or UV rays is used. |
