Piperidine derivatives of the general formula (I)
<Chemistry id="chema01" num="0001"><Image id="ia01" he="85" wi="121" file="IMGA0001.TIF" imgContent="chem" imgFormat="TIFF" /></Chemistry> wherein R₁ is hydrogen, C₁-C₃ alkyl or C₂-C₁₈ acyl and k, m and n each are independently 1, 2 or 3, are useful stabilizers for organic substances e.g. synthetic resins or paints. The piperidine derivatives are prepared by reacting an alkylenepolyamine - N - alkanoic acid or esterifiable derivative thereof with a 4-piperidinol.
