The combined excavator-loader has a chassis (10) mounted on wheels (12). A loader bucket (18) attached to an arm (16) is mounted on the front end of the chassis, whilst the excavator and driver's cab (34) are mounted on the rear end of the chassis. The excavator arm (42) is mounted on the front wall of the cab so that it can be swung about a horizontal axis. When the excavator is travelling on the public highway the arm (42) can be positioned so that it does not obstruct the view from the driver's cab.
