A photo-receptor for electrography comprising a layer containing a charge generating substance on an electrically conductive substrate, said photo-receptor comprising a low molecular weight ammonium salt at a proportion of 0.1 to 15 parts by weight with respect to 100 parts by weight of said charge generating substrate, and wherein said low molecular weight ammonium salt is preferably selected from the group consisting of a compound of the general formula (I) and a quadrivalent-nitrogen-containing cyclic compound;
