PURPOSE:To provide a lubricating composition having excellent oxidation resistance, abrasion resistance, friction-reducing property and solubility in mineral oil and containing a sulfur-containing compound and an oil-soluble compound composed of the reaction product of a hexavalent molybdenum compound and a phosphoric acid ester as essential constituent components. CONSTITUTION:The objective lubrication oil contains (A) an oil-soluble molybdenum compound obtained by reacting (i) a hexavalent molybdenum compound consisting of molybdenum trioxide and/or a molybdic acid (alkali metal salt) with (ii) a phosphoric acid mono- or diester (preferably a 3-24C phosphoric acid diester) and (B) a sulfur-containing compound as essential constituent components. The preferable example of the component B is the compound of formula I-IV (R1, R2 and R4 are 3-24C hydrocarbon group; R3 is 7-24C hydrocarbon group; X is S or O). EFFECT:It has low corrosivity to metals such as copper, iron, etc. |
