PURPOSE:To stop or suppress scattering of toner by composing at least the surface part of a toner carrier by using silicone rubber with which a <=60vol% filler is mixed. CONSTITUTION:When the rotating speed of a photosensitive body 6 is fast like a fast copying machine, toner on a roller 4 leaves a developing roller 4 and scatters owing to a centrifugal force operating on the toner on the roller 4 and an air flow generated by the rotation of the roller 4. For the purpose of eliminating it, the developing roller 4 is composed of a core material 4a made of a conductive material such as metal and a silicone rubber layer 4b fixed around it and the <=60vol%, preferably, <=50vol% filler is mixed with the silicone rubber. Thus, at least the surface part of the developing roller is made of silicone rubber which has enough stickiness to hole the toner by itself, so that the toner is prevented securely from scattering. |
