PURPOSE:To enable a protocol test in the frame level or higher by providing a protocol switching additional device so that frames transmitted from an equipment to be tested can be transmitted to a testing machine even if frame level procedures are abnormal. CONSTITUTION:A terminal 1 to be tested transmits a frame (a) through a termi nal connection line 9. When detecting a flag F of the start, a protocol switching additional device 3 takes out an address A0, a control C0, a frame check sequence FCS0, a packet header PHDR0, and user data DATA and transmits a frame (b) through a subscriber's line 6, an intra-network communication line 8, and a subscriber's line 7. A protocol switching additional device 4 takes out the address A0, the control C0, the packet header PHDR0, user data DATA, and the frame check sequence FCSO and transmits a frame (c) through a termi nal connection line 10. Thus, abnormality is detected by the testing machine even if frame level procedures are abnormal.
