PURPOSE:To realize safe operation of an elevator by absorbing the surplus of the power supplied to a DC motor with the first and second electric energy absorbing elements. CONSTITUTION:If accumulated energy occurs by the leakage inductances 14V - 14W on the power source 10 side when the switching element groups (Q1 - Q2, D11 - D13, and D4 - D6), and (Q7 - Q12 and D7 - D12) of power converting means 18 and 20 switch, this accumulated energy is absorbed in the first and second energy absorbing elements 16 and 24 respectively as electric energy. And the electric energy absorbed by the second energy absorbing element 24 is used as the power for the field winding 28 of a Dc motor 30. In this way, surplus energy can be absorbed, being shared, by the first and second electric energy absorbing elements 16 and 24. |
