PURPOSE:To easily inspect the irradiation resistance in a short time and to improve the reliability by irradiating >=2 solid materials which have crystal structure with charged particles, and measuring and comparing the density of the number of transition loops generated in the material. CONSTITUTION:A test-piece material sampled from a material in use is annealed and then ground from both sides into a thin film test-piece 7 which has an about 3 mm diameter and is about 0.2 mm thick while a lattice defect is hardly found; and the test-piece 7 is installed on a test-piece holder 5 in a vacuum container 6 and irradiated 9 with charged particles 8 until the measured generation number N' is saturated. Then the measured generation number N' of transition loops is corrected into a transition loop number N generated by neutron irradiation by using N=N '.phi<-1/2>.exp(-E/2kT) (where E is the active energy of transition loop generation, phithe irradiation rate of charged particles, (k) the Boltzmann constant, and T the sample temperature at the time of irradiation). Then it is decided that a material which is less in correcting value N found as to respective test-pieces 7 is less in the degree of deterioration. Consequently, the irradiation resistance of the solid material can be inspected in a short time by the simple constitution. |
