PURPOSE:To transfer a golden or silver character or pattern layer onto a blank material, by a method wherein a hot pen is moved on the back side of a base, and is pressed by a hot stamp so that a layer comprising a coloring material and a heat- fusible resin is locally melted. CONSTITUTION:A silicone resin releasing agent 2 is applied to the base 11 consisting of a glassine paper, then a transfer layer 3 is provided by coating which consists of a mixture of yellow colored fine aluminum particles and a polyvinyl butyral hot-melt adhesive, and the other side of the glassine paper is covered by a color forming layer 4 formed of a carbon-filled wax. The film thus obtained is cut to the size of 5X6cm to obtain a thermal transfer film piece having golden luster. A cover layer 5 of 5X8cm in size is provided on the color forming layer 4, with a peripheral part 6 projected by 1cm at either end. Spots of an adhesive 7 of 3mm in diameter are provided at intervals on the peripheral parts 6, and the adhesive 7 and the transfer layer 3 are covered by a releasable paper 8 of 5X8cm is size. In use, the releasable paper 8 is released, the remainder is placed on the surface of a cover of a notebook, with the golden surface on the lower side, the film is fixed by the adhesive 7 by lightly pressing the film, and characters are written by a hot pen heated to 180 deg.C. |
