PURPOSE:To easily supply an ink to a base of an ink ribbon without using heat sources such as a heater, by pressing solid ink particles adhered to the surface of the base into through-holes provided in the base by a pressing means. CONSTITUTION:Solid ink particles 11 constituted of a mixture of a coloring agent (a dye or a pigment) and a heat-fusible oil or fat such as paraffin wax and carnauba wax and having a particle diameter of about 100-150mum are contained in a container 12. The base 14 consisting of a stainless steel sheet having a thickness of 10-100mum and provided with a multiplicity of through- holes 13 with a hole diameter of 1-100mum at a predetermined pitch is inserted into the container 12. The base 14 is fed by feeding rollers, whereby the ink particles 11 are adhered to both sides of the base 14. Both sides of the base 14 are pressed by a pair of pressing rollers 15, whereby the ink particles 11 adhered to the base 14 are pressed into the through-holes 13. The base 14 is further fed, and the ink 17 remaining on the surfaces of the base 14 are scraped away by knife edges 16. |
