DEVICE FOR BENDING PLATE GLASS UNDER HEATING

PURPOSE:To make it possible to carry out a small amount of production of various grades of plate glass having different bend shapes, by transporting continuously plate glass in a furnace and controlling the position of a movable, partially heating source for glass face with numerical data. CONSTITUTION:As the plate glass 1 is successively transported by the roller conveyor 2 in the furnace 4, it is placed on the blending mold 3 consisting of the main part 5 and the side parts 6. The plate glass 1 is heated from both the top and bottom sides by the plural ceiling gas burners 7 and the plural floor gas burners 8 and the movable burners 9a and 9b to heat the glass plate along the bending line 1a of the glass. The movable gas burners 9a and 9b are transferred along the bending line 1a of the plate glass in the width direction of the plate glass by the movable units 10a and 10b and the plate glass is partially heated and bent. The position and height of the burners 9a and 9b are adjusted by the movable units 10a and 10b for the movable gas burners 9a and 9b and plate glass having different bend shapes can be easily produced according to the shape of the bending mold 3.
