The curved staircase is made in section. Each stair section has an upwardly projecting cylinder and a downwardly projecting cylinder at opposite ends. The upwardly projecting cylinder of a lower stair section is inserted into a downwardly projecting cylinder of the upper stair section and rotatably and slidably in the vertical direction. These two cylinders are fixed to each other by a screw on the axis of the upwardly projecting cylinder. A pair of nuts are engaged with the screw and clamp an anchor fixed to the downwarldy projecting cylinder.
