The invention relates to a vaginal applicator for synchronising heat, in particular in small mammals such as sheep and goats, this instrument being intended to insert into the vagina of the animal an implant for predetermining the oestrus. This vaginal applicator is characterised in that it consists of an introduction sheath 1 in which an expulsion piston 2 slides axially, manoeuvred from outside by a gripping handle 3, sliding on the sheath, the mechanical connection between the said piston 2 and the handle 3 being made by a bolt 8 which slides in an axial slot passing through the sheath over a part of its length. This vaginal applicator allows insertion of an implant, without injury or stress to the animal. <IMAGE>
