PURPOSE:To prevent groove wandering from taking place by configurating a device in such a way that a main groove in a circular form, the width of which is larger than the width of grooves on roads, is provided on the ground contacting surface of a tire to the circumferential direction, and the position of the main groove is specified by dimensions between ribedges in the specific same and reverse directions. CONSTITUTION:The tread pattern of a pneumatic tire includes at least one straight groove, which is suitable to run on a road having longitudinal grooves in the running direction of vehicles where the space and width of the groove are 'a' and 'b' respectively, on the ground contacting surface of the tire to the circumferential direction. In the above-mentioned tread pattern, the surface of a tread 1, that is, the ground contacting surface 2 of the tire is provided with main grooves 3, the width of which is larger than the width 'b' of the groove on the road, in a circular form. And the position of the main grooves is specified by both Ai and Bj which satisfy the following equations: am+(b+2)<=Ai<=a(m+1)-(b+2), an-b<=Bj<=an+b. Where Ai>0, Bj>0, each of m and n is zero or natural numbers, i and j represent 1, 2, 3,..., and each of Ai and Bj represent each of dimensions between ribedges in the same and reverse directions. |
