摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain a clear image having sufficiently high maximum density and sufficiently low minimum density at a high developing speed by using specified internal latent image type silver halide (AgX) particles in a sensitive material giving a direct positive image by fogging after imagewise exposure. CONSTITUTION:When one or more AgX emulsion layers, contg. internal latent image type AgX particles having unfogged surfaces are formed to obtain a photographic sensitive material giving a direct positive image by imagewise exposure and fogging followed by surface development and/or surface development under fogging, each of the internal latent image type AgX particles is composed of a chemically sensitized or metallic ion doped core and a multilayered shell consisting of at least two layers and covering the core, and the silver chloride content in the outermost layer of the shell is made lower than that in a layer adjacent to the outermost layer. A fine positive image having high maximum density, low minimum density and high sensitivity is obtd. by using an internal latent image type AgX emulsion contg. such AgX particles. The fine image is rapidly obtd. even by bleach fixing immediately after development.
