PURPOSE:To obtain a composition having excellent transparency and heat- resistance and high strength, by compounding an alpha-methylstyrene-acrylonitrile copolymer with a copolymer of an aromatic vinyl compound and a vinyl cyanide compound. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition is produced by compounding (A) 55-95(wt)% copolymer composed of 65-75% alpha-methylstyrene and 25-35% acrylonitrile and (B) 45-5% copolymer composed of 65-80% aromatic vinyl compound (excluding alpha-methylstyrene) and 20-35% vinyl cyanide compound. The number-average chain length of the component A is 800-1,600Angstrom (based on polystyrene) and that of the component B is 1,000-4,000Angstrom . The ratio of the weight-average chain length to number-average chain length of the component B is 1.5-3.0. The vinyl cyanide compound of the component B is acrylonitrile. |
