PURPOSE:To prevent coat rubber of belt layers from being deteriorated by direct sun shine by providing a skin layer, the brightness of which is more than the specified one, on the surface of a tire from the ground contacting surface to a side wall section in the tire which has the belt layer made of steel cords. CONSTITUTION:A pneumatic tire includes a carcass layer 3 which is provided across a pair of a right and a left bead 1, and a belt layer 5 which is provided above the carcass layer 3 at a tread section 4 covering almost the entire area of the tread section 4 in a circumferential form. And the belt layer 5 is composed of the plural number of layers, each of which is made of steel cords. In this case, a skin layer 7, the brightness of which is more than 60, for example, white paint different from a rubber material of the tread section may be used, is provided circumferentially from the ground contacting surface to a side wall section 2 so as to cover the surface of the tire at the position which corresponds to the end portion 'a' of the belt layer 5, with the skin layer 7. This configuration is capable of preventing the rubber at the end portion 'a' from being deteriorated by direct sun shine.
