<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a motion vector detector which obtains a wide detection range and high detection accuracy regardless the condition of spatial frequency in an input picture. CONSTITUTION:This detector is provided with a filter means for extracting a specified frequency component from an input picture signal, a block size setting means setting a block for detecting a motion vector by a block size corresponding to the specified frequency and an operating means calculating the motion vector based on mutual relation among plural screens based on the picture signal corresponding to the picture signal inside the block. In the device, High detection accuracy is always guaranteed by extracting the spatial frequency component suitable for a mutual relation operation by the filter means and the detecting range is secured, which is suitable in respective cases by making the detection range capable of selection at the spatial frequency to be extracted so as to select the specified frequency in accordance with the utilization target or due objects.</p> |
