<p>PURPOSE:To provide the method and the device for detecting the motion vectors of two various images while being hardly affected by a noise component at high accuracy. CONSTITUTION:When two field images timely preceding and following are inputted, first of all, the respective images are stored in an odd field memory 104 and an even field memory 105. Then, blocks in an 8X8 size, for example, are segmented from the respective memories, and mutual difference is extracted by a differentiator 106. Next, discrete cosine transformation is executed to the block composed of the extracted differential data by a DCT transformer 107. Based on the transformed result, a motion vector judgement part 108 detects the motion vectors of the two field images.</p> |
