The invention relates to a device having scales for the lower running sole of the ski. The scales are distributed according to a progressive spacing along the longitudinal axis and arranged according to the transverse axis so as to form a motif of the chevron type. Each scale is located projecting from the lower running sole and is composed of a profiled plane 2 and of sides 5 and 6 ending in a heel 4 whose edge is located on the line or the parallel of the juxtaposed but offset adjacent scales, thus forming a chevron. <IMAGE>
