The invention relates to a device enabling excess wax deposited by the dispensing roller of a roller waxer to be removed, whilst improving the surface state of the wax, and this is done in the same movement as that involved in waxing the ski. It consists of a surfacing roller 3 constantly wetted by a self-scraping blade 4. After it passes over the dispensing roller 2, the ski 7 bears on the surfacing roller. <IMAGE>
