PURPOSE:To utilize effectively a main storage by including the capacity of the main storage that is the object of separation in a partial separation requesting information in the main storage. CONSTITUTION:A test controller 14 surveys the presence/absence of an optional mechanism of an arithmetic processor 12 through a test control interface 16 and decides the capacity of the main storage required for a test. After that, the controller sets the separation request of a main storage part where a main storage part separation request code and a main storage capacity information are held respectively at a code part 21 and an auxiliary information part 31 at a regulated position of the main storage through a test control interface 17, and informs it to an operating system through a test control interface 15. The operating system, when it recognizes the separation request of the main storage part from the code part 21, separates logically the continuous main storage of main storage capacity represented by an auxiliary information part 22. |
