<p>PURPOSE:To cause adhesion of microorganisms quickly and securely to solid particles circulating in a tank by increasing the amt. of the solid particle upto necessary amt. in accordance with the increase of the amt. of the microorganism adhered to the solid particle. CONSTITUTION:At the starting stage of treatment, less amt. of solid particle than necessary for the adhesion of microorganism is added to the tank. As the amt. of the microorganism adhered to the solid particle increases, the amt. of the solid particle charge to the tank is increased upto the necessary amt. The solid particle is stirred with gas using such as air lift, etc. provided in the tank to cause circulation of solid particle. Thus, filthy water is treated biologically. Useful solid particle is such as sand, active carbon, etc. having 0.1-0.4mm. particle size. By another method, the BOD loading at the starting stage is set at a less value than a target BOD loading value.</p> |
