<p>PURPOSE:To avoid a situation in which a warehouse cannot receive an article because of ''warehouse full'' so as to obtain effective and smooth warehouse operation by predicting the warehouse storing state for a predetermined period in the future and modifying the storage plan if thus computed results indicate that the quantity to be stored exceeds the warehouse capacity. CONSTITUTION:A work progress management computer 50 is given basic data such as a long-range operation plan of a factory as a whole, standard efficiency in a tube manufacturing line and a fine array line, and the rate of operation of individual machines and devices. Further, in actual simulation information on initial quantity of goods in stock, a tube manufacturing schedule, and a fine array schedule on an automatic warehouse 1 are also input. Based on these information, the number of tubes to be manufactured and that of tubes to be finely arrayed per sort of article at each time during a predetermined period in the future are computed in order to predict the state of storage at the interval of 1hr. Thus computed results are given to an automatic warehouse management computer 51 and compared with the capacity of the warehouse. If the former exceeds the latter, a storage/delivery plane to the warehouse is modified. With this contrivance, a situation in which the warehouse cannot afford to receive an article because of ''warehouse full'' can be avoided, thereby enhancing work efficiency and smoothing out the storage work.</p> |
