This mechanism, which is installed in a lighter comprising a tank (90) for the liquid gas, a lid (60), a knurled wheel (91) and a stone (flint) (92), a lever (93) mounted on the lid and a gas ejection nozzle (10), comprises an adjustment plug (40) allowing passage of a predetermined quantity of gas and which is arranged in the bottom of a sleeve (20) which accommodates the nozzle, a plug (12) being placed at the bottom of the nozzle so as to make a seal with the upper part of the adjustment plug (40).
