The invention relates to an apparatus for separating tobacco fibres or similar fibres which have been removed from a store. A rotating removal roller, which is provided with carriers (spikes, pins) and a knocking roller which is driven considerably faster than the removal roller, is provided with carriers and knocks the fibres out of the removal roller, removes tobacco in a metered fashion from a store, especially in an accumulating chute. A separating roller is provided in the path of the shower, at a distance from the removal device, the peripheral speed of which separating roller is a multiple (five to ten times) of the peripheral speed of the removal roller. The tobacco fibres which have penetrated between the carriers of the separating roller are knocked out again by a knocking roller and separated thereby. <IMAGE>
