PURPOSE:To perform range finding operation without any influence of a noise light source which has the property of a periodic pulse even if there is the noise light source at the periphery of an object of range finding by providing a generating and control means for distance measuring light pulses, a time signal generating means, etc. CONSTITUTION:When no noise light pulse LN is generated in a noise detection section T1, range finding pulse generating and control means 20 and 31 generate range finding light pulses LDP at the end of the passing of the section T1 to measure the distance to the object of range finding on the basis of reflected light RLP reflected by the object of range finding. When the pulse LN arrives in the section T1, on the other hand, the means 20 and 31 generate a time signal S6 and generates the pulse LDP at the end of the passing of a noise removal section T2. The pulse RLP obtained at this time is photodetected before the LN generated periodically because the pulse LDP is generated right after the periodic pulse LN. Therefore, the distance is measured with the pulse RLP practically without any influence of the pulse LN. Thus, the distance is measured stably with high precision. |
