PURPOSE:To manufacture a molded body having superior strength independently of the shape and physical properties of a powdery starting material by molding powder of a metal, ceramics of the like after adding a binder, infiltrating a solvent into the molded body, and drying the molded body. CONSTITUTION:Powder of a metal such as Ti, Zr, Cr, Mo or Fe, a metallic material such as an alloy or ceramics such as silica, alumina, chamotte or spinel is formed. The shape of the powder is relatively close to a sphere and has <=1.4 aspect ratio. To the powder is added 0.2-10wt% binder such as polyvinyl alchol, sodium alginate or resin, and they are kneaded, charged into a mold of a prescribed shape, and press-molded. Water or an org. solvent such as methanol, ethanol or acetone is infiltrated into the molded body, and the molded boy is dried. A molded body having superior strength independently of the shape and quality of the powdery starting material is obtd. |
