The invention proposes a flow regulating valve for installation in an anti-lock arrangement in a vehicle braking system. The flow regulating valve (2) consists of three components. One component forms a control cylinder (3) and can be manufactured inexpensively as a bush by deep drawing or extrusion. The second component simultaneously forms a control piston (4) and a control slide valve (11) which can be displaced relative to the a control cylinder (3), and a first restriction, the cross-section of flow of which is determined solely by a throughflow opening (10) in the control piston (4). A second restriction is adjustable and is formed by the control slide valve (11) and by restriction orifices (15) arranged at the circumference of the control cylinder (3). The third component is a return spring (5), which is inserted into the actuating cylinder (3) and presses against the actuating piston (4) in a direction opposite to that of the inflowing pressure medium, attempting to keep the restriction openings (15) open.
