摘要 PURPOSE:To improve the propulsive efficiency of a ship hull, by a method wherein an external water accelerator is mounted to the bilge part of a gunnel, and the accelerator is actuated by means of a fluctuation in a water pressure along the outer board surface of the stem part. CONSTITUTION:In a ship wherein a screw propeller 7 is rotated clockwise as seen from the rear of a ship hull, a pair of electrodes 10a and 10b are situated to a bilge part 5, forming a boundary between a ship bottom 2 on the starboard side and the ship side 3 of a stern part 1 in a manner that the electrodes are exposed to an external water. A superconductive magnet is disposed in the vicinity of a ship full outer board 19 to the interior of a ship hull 15 of the bilge part 5 between the electrodes 10a and 10b, and this forms an external water accelerator 20. The external water accelerator 20 is controlled based on a fluctuation in a water pressure detected by accelometers 17a, 17b, and 17c mounted to the outer board of the stern part to prevent the production of a bilge vortex.
