PURPOSE:To obtain a reinforced rubber composition excellent in production rate, processability, strength of a vulcanizate, etc., by grafting a synthetic rubber containing a tackifying agent onto a fiber of a specified thermoplastic polymer through a novolak phenolic resin. CONSTITUTION:100pts.wt. vulcanizable synthetic rubber (A) other than butadiene rubber (e.g., isoprene rubber) is kneaded by heating with 1-200pts.wt. thermoplastic polymer (B) having a group of te formula in its polymer molecule (e.g., nylon 6), 0.5-20pts.wt. tackifying agent (C) (e.g., polyterpene resin), 0.2-5pts.wt. novolak phenolic resin (D) per 100pts.wt. total of components A and B, and 1- 50pts.wt. formaldehyde donor (E) per 100pts.wt. component D, and the resulting mixture is extruded. Component A is grafted onto component B in the form of fiber through component D to obtain the purpose reinforced rubber composition. |
