PURPOSE:To maintain a favorable property of contact with a thermal recording medium and record clearly, by providing heating resistor elements in proximity to a ridge part of a prismatic base body. CONSTITUTION:The heating resistor elements 3 are provided in proximity to an edge part of a heat-releasing substrate 1, that is, on a heat-insulating layer 2 in the range of the angle phi formed by the pints (lines) at which planes parallel respectively to two faces of the substrate 1 touch the layer 2 and the edge part at which the two faces of the substrate 1 intersect with each other (b), (c), (d). Even where pressing in the same degree as that in a conventional design is used, the contact between a heating part, an ink ribbon 8 and a recording paper 10 becomes a one-dimensional line contact, so that the pressure is hardly dispersed, and friction between the thermal head and the ink ribbon is weaker then that in the case of surface contact, so that an apparently higher pressure can be exerted. |
