PURPOSE:To make a clutch so as not to be disengaged and an engine brake so as to be applied in succession even if an accelerator pedal is restored during starting motion at a downhill, by keeping on with a clutch engagement in the case where an engine speed fails to drop even if the accelerator pedal is restored during the starting motion. CONSTITUTION:In the midway of starting motion, when an accelerator pedal 24 is restored before a clutch is completely engaged, a microcomputer 21 detects the rotational frequency of an engine 10 with an engine speed sensor 27. And, when the engine speed goes down, it judges that a driver discontinuous the starting, whereby the clutch is disengaged by an actuator 19. However, when the engine speed fails to drop, starting control comes to be continued so that the clutch is not disengaged. Therefore, at the time of starting a car at a downhill, even if a drive's foot comes off the accelerator pedal before the clutch is completely engaged at the midway of starting motion, the microcomputer 21 is not so judged that the driver discontinues the starting, engaging the clutch, and it keeps up with the starting control. |
