<p>PURPOSE:To maintain a deoxidizing function and a function to absorb and remove metallic oxide inclusions and to inhibit the desulfurization of metal to be refined to a minimum by blending CaO with Al2O3 and CaS in a specified ratio to obtain a flux for refining metal contg. sulfur. CONSTITUTION:A flux for refining metal contg. sulfur is composed of 15-50wt% CaO, 30-64wt% Al2O3 and 2-35wt% CaS. When CaSO4 is used in place of the CaS by 2-35wt% (expressed in terms of CaS), a flux for refining metal contg. oxidizable metal as well as sulfur is obtd.</p> |
