PURPOSE:To prolong the service life of a printing head and enhance printing quality, by coating a printing tip part with diamond. CONSTITUTION:Diamond can be deposited by generating a plasma by microwaves or the like and placing the tip part of the printing head in the region in which the plasma is generated. When using microwaves, the operation is carried out under the conditions of 0.5-4GHz, 700-900 deg.C, 5-100Torr, and a hydrocarbon concentration in a mixed gas of a hydrocarbon and hydrogen gas of 0.1-5vol%. The thickness of diamond thus deposited may be 0.5-10mum. It is preferable that the part to be coated with diamond is previously subjected to surface roughening or mechanical marring. |
