摘要 |
PURPOSE:To remarkably improve the lubricity and wear resistance of a medium by executing in a gaseous argon atmosphere controlled to >=1.0X10<-2>Torr gaseous pressure thereby forming a thin carbon film. CONSTITUTION:The gaseous argon pressure is controlled to >=1.0X10<-2>Torr in the stage of forming the thin amorphous carbon film by sputtering in the gaseous argon atmosphere on a magnetic layer. The thin carbon film changes gradually from a graphite state to amorphous state as the gaseous Ar pressure of the atmosphere increases in the case of forming the thin carbon film by sputtering as a protective film on the magnetic layer of the magnetic recording medium. As the film quality changes, a head travels stably with the lower floating amt. The wear resistance in thereby additionally improved. |
